Hearing and doing Jesus' teaching are going to be the the focus of St. Mark as we participate in the Red Letter Challenge beginning September 11th / 12th.
The Main goals of the Red Letter Challenge are:
There are many ways to participate:
Attend worship weekly: During the challenge every sermon will emphasize what we will be diving deeper into during that coming week.
Read daily devotions: Everyone will be given a book (free of charge!) that provides daily devotions to challenge us.
Participate in a small group: There will be many small groups throughout the week. The facilitators are looking for people to fill their groups. Click here to indicate your interest in joining a small group and we will find a group that works for you.
Live it out: This is the challenge! And being in a small group will provide the encouragement we all need.
Like a well-worn path, habits are not easy to change or cultivate. They slowly develop after repeated, intentional choices are made and then lived. What a blessing it would be if these goals become habits! This is Jesus' desire for you!
This is Jesus' desire for me! I look forward to entering this challenge with you with an open heart to hear and then do what Jesus teaches.

Desiring God's Word?
Learn. Live. Love. We are a congregation motivated to Learn how to follow Jesus in order to Live like Jesus, so that His Love is shown to the world around us. In short, it's all about Jesus. St Mark is named after the author of the Gospel According to Mark, and when you read the Gospel, you'll notice it as a Gospel of action.
As compared with Matthew, Mark emphasizes the deeds of Jesus. The deeds of Jesus are by no means isolated from His words; the word is Jesus' instrument in His deeds too; He speaks, and it is done. And Mark, besides giving two longer discourses of Jesus, repeatedly emphasizes the centrality of the word in the ministry of Jesus and the effect of its authority on men. But it is chiefly by His works that Jesus is marked as the Proclaimer and the Bringer of the almighty grace of the kingdom of God, as the anointed King in whom man can trust, the Son of God in whom man can believe. (Adapted from Martin H. Franzmann)
Just as the Gospel According to Mark is one of action, so the congregation of St Mark strives to take what we Learn about Jesus and put it into action in our Lives through Love. Because we believe this, we made it our mission to grow in, point to, and share with all the love of God in Christ Jesus. It begins with His Word (the Bible), turns us to Christ, then moves us toward others. READ MORE
The first time walking into a particular church can be daunting or even terrifying. What sort of place is it? Will I recognize anyone? Will I be asked questions I don't know the answers to? Or depending on your previous church experience, the attempt can become too intimidating.
If you are considering attending one of our worship services, we pray you would take the vulnerable step and come check us out!
We hope you connect with Jesus through studying Scripture and worshiping Him. We are a community of Christians caring for each other and serving one another. Our desire is for you to know that you belong in Christ.
When Jesus first came to us over 2000 years ago, He didn't wait for us to clean ourselves up. In fact, He came to clean us up. So, come as you are, and let God do His work! READ MORE
