The 2020 Angel Tree Program: Help a Family in Need

This year’s Angel Tree may not go up physically in St. Mark Church, but it is NOT cancelled!  Many families are still in need, and your willingness to help is needed more than ever.

Our process for fulfilling the family’s gift wish lists will operate differently this year. If you want to help by donating gifts for the family, we have two ways to sign up.

  1. You can call Kris Bakke at 608-931-3741 or Brian Bayer at 608-770-6042 to offer your help.
  2. You can click on the following link and complete the Angel Tree Registration Form.

When filing out the form, you may choose to donate money toward a gift that a volunteer will purchase and wrap for you, or you may choose to shop on your own and wrap your gift and drop it off at the church office, or with Kris or Brian.

If you select the option of purchasing a gift yourself, we will e-mail or call you within a day or two of receiving your completed registration form to provide categories of gifts that you may choose from to buy.  Our goal is to prevent duplicates and ensure the whole family—parents and children—receive gifts they need and/or want this year.

All gifts must be received by Sunday, December 13.

Thank you for your generosity this Christmas season.

Desiring God's Word?

Learn. Live. Love.  We are a congregation motivated to Learn how to follow Jesus in order to Live like Jesus, so that His Love is shown to the world around us. In short, it's all about Jesus.  St Mark is named after the author of the Gospel According to Mark, and when you read the Gospel, you'll notice it as a Gospel of action.

As compared with Matthew, Mark emphasizes the deeds of Jesus.  The deeds of Jesus are by no means isolated from His words; the word is Jesus' instrument in His deeds too; He speaks, and it is done.  And Mark, besides giving two longer discourses of Jesus, repeatedly emphasizes the centrality of the word in the ministry of Jesus and the effect of its authority on men.  But it is chiefly by His works that Jesus is marked as the Proclaimer and the Bringer of the almighty grace of the kingdom of God, as the anointed King in whom man can trust, the Son of God in whom man can believe. (Adapted from Martin H. Franzmann)

Just as the Gospel According to Mark is one of action, so the congregation of St Mark strives to take what we Learn about Jesus and put it into action in our Lives through Love.  Because we believe this, we made it our mission to grow in, point to, and share with all the love of God in Christ Jesus.  It begins with His Word (the Bible), turns us to Christ, then moves us toward others. READ MORE

The first time walking into a particular church can be daunting or even terrifying.  What sort of place is it? Will I recognize anyone? Will I be asked questions I don't know the answers to?  Or depending on your previous church experience, the attempt can become too intimidating.

If you are considering attending one of our worship services, we pray you would take the vulnerable step and come check us out!

We hope you connect with Jesus through studying Scripture and worshiping Him.  We are a community of Christians caring for each other and serving one another.  Our desire is for you to know that you belong in Christ.

When Jesus first came to us over 2000 years ago, He didn't wait for us to clean ourselves up.  In fact, He came to clean us up.  So, come as you are, and let God do His work! READ MORE
